If you LOVE fishing, Avon should be your summer destination! The beach access is directly across the street from Tesoro Bella, and there are miles of beaches accessible via 4-wheel drive permit. In fact, Avon is home to the World Record 94 lb. 2 oz. Red Drum caught in 1983 from the beach.
Avon is a very popular spot for windsurfers and kiteboarders. You can tackle the Atlantic surf anywhere along the beach or head to Canadian Hole (also known as the Haulover Sound Access), a popular Pamilico sound flat in between Avon and Buxton.
